Dear Aromas School Parent/Guardian:
It is with great pride and excitement that I write this welcoming letter to you as the newly appointed Principal of Aromas School for the 2016-17 school year. As we embark on this transition, it is essential to pause and assess where the school has been, where it is now, and what we see as our priorities in the future as we begin this new school year together. I am eager to bring my 17 years of experience as a classroom teacher and educational leader to your child’s school and to work with you as a partner to ensure your child’s success.
Along with staff, I will work hard to continue the legacy of success established at Aromas School by building strong relationships with students, staff, parents, and community partners. Our focus will include continuing to develop 21st century skills and a consistent implementation of district-adopted curriculum and instructional strategies to increase student achievement, fostering a safe, nurturing environment for children, use of data to inform classroom instruction, and providing exciting and challenging enrichment opportunities for all students.
Over the course of the next few months, my goals are to:
Get to know all of the staff and students within Aromas School quickly and in some depth; to get to know district-wide staff that interact and affect our school; and to provide opportunities to meet with parents at informal gatherings.
Understand the history and norms of Aromas School—the ways it has operated in the past and who does what, when, where and why to get tasks accomplished.
Establish priorities for Aromas School based on a shared sense of its perceived strengths and challenges, opportunities and aspirations, as well as an action plan for the future.
During the course of the year, it is my sincere hope that you will join me in this collaborative process designed to unify us through common goals, to be achieved by a common plan, and motivated by a common belief: We believe in providing the best possible opportunities to prepare every child for the challenges of the 21st century with a solid foundation created here at Aromas School.
I anticipate a most successful year as our Aromas learning community works to support the academic, social, and emotional growth of your child here at Aromas School and developing a life-long love of learning. Please feel free to stop in or call to make an appointment to discuss any concerns, suggestions, or ideas you may have to help make this year at Aromas School the best yet.
As a reminder, the first day of school is Thursday, August 18th, 2016. The first bell rings at 8:10, and school starts at 8:15. I look forward to working with you and your child.
