Welcome to Aromas School

October went out with an enthusiastic bang as Aromas students participated in the annual Costume Parade, Harvest Carnival activities, and middle school Pumpkin Olympics! Thanks to Ms. Rosa, our Student Council, and our wonderful parent volunteers who helped make everything run smoothly. November is extremely busy…please make sure to look over the Important Dates to stay informed about what is happening at Aromas!

Aromas Teacher is Awarded a Fellowship!

Leslie Rayburn, our 6th grade math and science teacher, is headed out on an expedition with Earthwatch beginning November 3rd. Mrs. Rayburn will work with the scientists on Catalina Island to monitor the health and changing landscapes of the ocean as well as gathering data which help scientists make insights into the health of the ocean in our changing world. By engaging teachers, Earthwatch strives to inspire and build a future generation of leaders who value the environment and prioritize it in their everyday choices. When teachers return from the field, they share their experiences with students, colleagues, family, and friends through stories, lessons, and community action. You can follow Mrs. Rayburn’s blog at https://rayburnearthwatch.blogspot.com/

Aromas Fundraising

Aromas School would like to thank Graniterock for their continued support of our after-school sports programs through their annual Rock & Run event. This year Graniterock raised $20,000…their largest donation ever! The Aromas Home & School Club also set a fundraising record this year when they sponsored the Walk-a-thon at the end of September. Students, parents and corporate sponsors raised over $7,000! Thank you to all our fantastic volunteers who cheered our students on in the heat! Everyone can continue to raise money for Aromas School by ordering through Amazon Smile…the URL is located below. Thank you for your continuing support!

Parent-Teacher Conferences and Book Fair

It’s that time of year! Your child’s teacher will be contacting you shortly to schedule a conference to discuss your child’s academic progress. Conferences will be held the week of November 13-17. Please make note that the dismissal time will be 1:15 p.m. EVERY DAY that week. Our annual Book Fair is also occurring during the same week in our library. The Book Fair will be open every day from 8:30-2:30 p.m. Come in and stock up on books for our upcoming Thanksgiving and Winter breaks!

The Aromas staff wishes everyone a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday!
